Hy-Vee to Host First Pet Products Summit
Hy-Vee, Inc. will host its first virtual Pet Products Summit on May 2 – the company’s first category-specific summit for new vendors.
The pet category boomed during the height of the pandemic when this stressful time motivated many people to adopt pets. The increased adoption of pets has led to increased sales of pet supplies, treats and toys. According to American Pet Products Association$103.6 billion was spent on pets in the United States in 2020. And this growth shows no signs of slowing down as more and more pet parents seek to spoil their fur babies with premium pet products.
To meet this need, Hy-Vee is currently accepting submissions of innovative articles to www.rangeme.com/hyveepet22q1 in the following retail-ready pet product categories: wet food, dry food, treats, toys, leashes, collars and other pet accessories. The deadline for submission is April 4.
The Pet Products Summit will consist of 15-30 minute virtual presentations from vendors selected by Hy-Vee.
Also in May, Hy-Vee will host its sixth Best of Local Brands Summit to expand and enhance product offerings at its more than 285 retail stores across the Midwest.
Hy-Vee is accepting submissions for this online summit at www.rangeme.com/hyveebestoflocal22q2 in the following retail-ready categories: groceries, fruits and vegetables, deli meats, general merchandise, frozen foods, dairy, and health and beauty care. The deadline for submission is March 28.
The Best of Local Brands Summit will take place May 18-20 and will consist of 15-30 minute virtual pitches from selected vendors.
The grocer has launched its virtual Summits of the best local brands in February 2020. Over 100 new brands have been selected from Hy-Vee’s top four combined peaks and are now available to Hy-Vee customers. Selection of local brands from fifth summit held in February is ongoing.
The Midwestern grocer plans to increase its efforts to identify suppliers from diverse backgrounds in 2022 and encourages minority and women-owned businesses to apply for its quarterly summits.
ECRM and RangeMe help Hy-Vee find, qualify and connect with potential suppliers. Product submissions for the May Summits will be made through RangeMe, an online product discovery and sourcing platform. All meetings will take place via ECRM’s virtual meeting platform, ECRM Connect. Suppliers not chosen to participate will still be accessible through RangeMe and may be reviewed by Hy-Vee again in the future.
