Hy-Vee plans 6th Best of Local Brands, 1st Pet Products Summits

Based in West Des Moines, Iowa Hy-Vee will hold its sixth Best of Local Brands Summit in May to allow customers to buy from local suppliers in its more than 285 retail stores in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin. The grocer also unveiled its first Pet Products Summit which will also be held in May.
Continuing its efforts to elevate and identify vendors from diverse backgrounds and encourage minority and women-owned businesses, May’s The best of local brands The summit will consist of 15-30 minute virtual presentations from selected vendors May 18-20. Hy-Vee said it was now accept online submissions through March 28 in the following retail-ready categories: groceries, fruits and vegetables, deli meats, general merchandise, frozen foods, dairy products, and health and beauty care.

Seeking to host the company’s first category-specific summit, Hy-Vee announced its first pet products summit on May 2. Hy-Vee said it was now accept online submissions until April 4 in the following ready-to-sell product categories: wet food, dry food, treats, toys, leashes, collars and other pet accessories.
All sourcing and product submissions will be made through RangeMe, an online product discovery and sourcing platform. All meetings will take place via ECRM’s virtual meeting platform, ECRM Connect. Suppliers not selected to participate in this summit will still be accessible through RangeMe and may be revisited by Hy-Vee dealers in the future as business needs change.
