Medication and First Aid Policies
SPCA staff and camp counselors are certified in first aid and CPR, however, employees, volunteers or other representatives are not authorized to administer medication or emergency medical treatment to anyone. Life-saving devices may be handed over to a Humanitarian Educator for on-site securing in an emergency, provided a doctor’s note accompanies such devices. Human educators can help your child prepare the lifesaving device, but cannot administer medication such as inhalers or Epipens. If a lifesaving device needs to remain on-site at the SPCA, please contact Director of Human Education Christine Davis in advance to discuss the device and your child’s needs: (716) 875-7360, ext. 262.
Non-Covid Cancellation Policy
Full-week summer camps: If your child is registered in advance, a place is reserved for them. If, before June 1, we learn that your child will not be attending camp, a refund will be issued, less a $50 non-refundable processing fee, which will be withheld. From June 1 until two weeks before camp, a 50% refund will be issued. No refunds will be given 14 days before or after the start of the week-long camps.
If your child is absent during the registration week, camp fees will not be refunded or pro-rated.
All refund requests must be submitted in writing. Approved refunds will take at least two weeks to process.
Cancellations related to COVID
If your child’s camp week has to be canceled prior to their start date due to changes in current COVID-19 status, you will receive a full refund or credit towards a future program. If your child comes to camp and the week needs to be shortened due to suspected COVID exposure, refunds will be pro-rated and an administration fee will be withheld.
If you must cancel your registration due to a COVID-related issue (i.e. exposure, quarantine, illness) prior to the start of camp, refunds will be issued on a prorated basis less a $25 processing fee.
