American Pet Products Association: APPA President CEO Steve King retires

The American Pet Products Association (APPA) recently announced that President and CEO Steve King will retire effective December 31. to fill the position permanently.

King joined the APPA in 2019. As President and CEO of the APPA, he has helped guide the association and the pet care community through the huge changes resulting from COVID-19. .

“As we all know, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all sectors of the global economy. Our industry has faced a number of challenges, but we have remained resilient, which ultimately resulted in a record year of sales in 2020 and a positive outlook for 2021 and beyond, ”King said. “It has been an absolute honor and pleasure to work alongside some of the best and brightest in the industry during my tenure at APPA. I would like to thank the entire team for their hard work during my time with the APPA. association and I look forward to seeing how much APPA and the pet industry will continue to accomplish together for years to come.

Prior to the APPA, King was President of the Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA). Along with PIDA, he was instrumental in spearheading efforts to combine the former APPMA Show and the PIDA PETS Show to form Global Pet Expo, the pet industry’s premier event.
